NATURE RESERVE (SHEHEREE BOG) RECOGNITION ORDER, 1990. I, BRENDAN DALY, Minister of State at the Department of Finance, after consultation with the Minister for Agriculture and Food, the Minister for the Marine and the Commissioners of Public Works in Ireland and the council of the County of Kerry being satisfied by the person who is the occupier of the land so specified in Article 2 of the following Order, that the land so specified includes an ecosystem described in paragraph
- a)of section 15
(2)of the Wildlife Act, 1976 (No. 39 of 1976), and that the interest of the said person in or over the said land is such as to enable the person to establish and manage a nature reserve on the said land, and that the person can, in accordance with any conditions which I, Brendan Daly, Minister of State at the Department of Finance, or the Minister for Finance, see fit to impose, use or manage the said land so as to establish and maintain, or maintain as may be appropriate a nature reserve on the said land hereby, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 16 of the said Act, the Wildlife (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 156 of 1987 ), and the Finance (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1989 ( S.I. No. 201 of 1989 ), order as follows. 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the Nature Reserve (Sheheree Bog) Recognition Order, 1990.
(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 29th day of January, 1990. 2.
(1)The land specified in paragraph
(2)of this Article is hereby recognised as a nature reserve.
(2)The land referred to in paragraph
(1)of this article is all that part of the land known as Sheheree Bog situate in the townland of Ballydrisheen in the county of Kerry other than any part thereof which forms part of a public road, enclosed on the map annexed hereto within the inner margin of the black line and hatched thereon in black. GIVEN under my hand this 10th day of January, 1990. BRENDAN DALY, Minister of State at the Department of Finance. EXPLANATORY NOTE. The Order recognises the land at Sheheree Bog, County Kerry, as a nature reserve so that it can be managed in such a way as to ensure the conservation of the peatland ecosystem which it constitutes.
