(1)(B)) (Commencement) Order, 1991. AmendmentsLeasuithe The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by subsection
(2)of section 27 of the Social Welfare Act, 1991 (No. 7 of 1991), hereby orders as follows:— 1 Short title. 1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare Act, 1991 (Section 27
(1)(b)) (Commencement) Order,
  1. 2 Commencement.
  2. The appointed day for the purposes of paragraph (b) of subsection
(1)of section 27 of the Social Welfare Act, 1991 (as modified by Part II of the Social Welfare Act, 1991 (Section 26) Order, 1991) shall be— ( a ) the 28th day of November, 1991 as respects retirement pension, and ( b ) the 29th day of November, 1991 as respects old age (contributory) pension. GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Social Welfare this 28th day of November, 1991. BRENDAN DALY, Minister for Social Welfare. EXPLANATORY NOTE. This Order brings effect the provisions of Part IV of the Social Welfare Act, 1991 which provides for an entitlement to old age (contributory) pension/retirement pension on a pro-rata basis to certain persons with mixed social insurance records.
