AmendmentsLeasuithe S.I. No. 199 of 1992. EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (SEED OF FODDER PLANTS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1992. I, JOE WALSH, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Directive No. 86/109/EEC1 of 27 February, 1986, Commission Directive No. 89/100/EEC2 of 20 January, 1989, Commission Directive No. 89/424/EEC3 of 30 June, 1989, and Commission Directive No. 91/376/EEC4 of 25 June, 1991, hereby make the following Regulations: 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Seed of Fodder Plants) (Amendment) Regulations, 1992 and shall come into operation on the 16 day of July, 1992.
(2)The European Communities (Seed of Fodder Plants) Regulations, 1981 to 1991, and these Regulations may be cited together as the European Communities (Seed of Fodder Plants) Regulations, 1981 to 1992, and shall be construed as one. 2.
(1)In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the European Communities (Seed of Fodder Plants) Regulations, 1981 ( S.I. No. 112 of 1981 ).
(2)The definition of "the directive" in Regulation 2
(1)of the Principal Regulations, as amended by Regulation 3 of the European Communities (Seed of Fodder Plants) (Amendment) Regulations, 1991 ( S.I. No. 110 of 1991 ), shall include Commission Directive No. 89/100/EEC of 20 January, 1989, and Commission Directive No. 91/376/ EEC of 25 June 1991. 1O.J. No. L93/21, 8.4.1986. 2O.J. (1)of the Principal Regulations, shall not be placed on the market and all references to commercial seed, other than the said definition, in those Regulations as amended are hereby deleted. These Regulations, by amending existing Regulations on the marketing of fodder plant seed, prohibit the sale of commercial seed for fodder species.
