AmendmentsLeasuithe S.I. No. 16 of 1993. ENERGY (ALTERATION OF NAME OF DEPARTMENT AND TITLE OF MINISTER) ORDER, 1993. The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6

(1)of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows: 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the Energy (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1993.
(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 20th day of January,
  1. The name of the Department of State, the present name whereof is, in the Irish language, an Roinn Fuinnimh and, in the English language, the Department of Energy, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an Roinn Turasoireachta agus Trádála and, in the English language, to that of the Department of Tourism and Trade.
  2. The title of the Minister having charge of the Department of State whose present title is in the Irish language, an tAire Fuinnimh and, in the English language, the Minister for Energy, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an tAire Turasoireachta agus Trádála and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Tourism and Trade.
  3. In any enactment— ( a ) references to the Department of Energy shall be construed as references to the Department of Tourism and Trade; ( b ) references to the Minister for Energy shall be construed as references to the Minister for Tourism and Trade.
  4. The reference in section 70
(5)(e) of the Corporation Tax Act, 1976 (No. 7 of 1976), to the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications shall be construed as a reference to the Minister for Tourism and Trade. This Order changes the name of the Department of Energy to that of the Department of Tourism and Trade and the title of the Minister for Energy to that of the Minister for Tourism and Trade.
