GAS ACT, 1976 (SECTION 40A) (EXEMPTION) ORDER, 1993. I, BRIAN COWEN, Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 40A
(6)(a) of the Gas Act, 1976 (as inserted by Regulation 20 of the European Communities (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations, 1989) having regard to the Environmental Impact Statements submitted to me by Bord Gáis Éireann on 28 October, 1992, and being satisfied that exceptional circumstances so warrant and after consultation with the Minister for the Environment, hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Gas Act, 1976 (Section 40A) (Exemption) Order, 1993. 2. The application by Bord Gáis Éireann of 21st April, 1993 for consent, in accordance with section 8
(7)of the Gas Act, 1976 , to construct, operate and maintain the gas interconnector pipeline from Ireland to the United Kingdom, submitted pursuant to the said section 8
(7)is exempted from the requirement of subsection
