I, JOE WALSH, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Council Directive No. 93/1/EEC of 21 January, 1993

(1), hereby make the following Regulations:

(1)These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Sampling and Analysis of Fertilisers) Regulations, 1993, and shall come into operation on the 1st day of October, 1993.
(2)The European Communities (Sampling and Analysis of Fertilisers) Regulations, 1978 to 1991, and these Regulations may be cited together as the European Communities (Sampling and Analysis of Fertilisers) Regulations, 1978 to
  2. Regulation 2 of the European Communities (Sampling and Analysis of Fertilisers) Regulations, 1978 ( S.I. No. 12 of 1978 ), is hereby amended by the substitution for the definition of "the directive" (inserted by the European Communities (Sampling and Analysis of Fertilisers) Regulations, 1991 ( S.I. No. 282 of 1991 )), of the following definition: " 'the Directive' means Commission Directive No. 77/535/EEC of 22 June, 1977
