COUNTY AND CITY MANAGEMENT (GALWAY) ORDER, 1993. The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 7
(7)of the Local Government (Reorganisation) Act, 1985 (No. 7 of 1985) and section 13
(2)of the City and County Management (Amendment) Act, 1955 as modified by the Local Government (Reorganisation) Act, 1985 (County Borough of Galway) Order, 1985 ( S.I. No. 426 of 1985 ), hereby orders as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the County and City Management (Galway) Order, 1993. 2. The operation of section 7
(5)of the Local Government (Reorganisation) Act, 1985 is hereby terminated.
- This Order shall come into operation on the 15th day of November,
- GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for the Environment this 9th day of September One Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety Three. MICHAEL SMITH, Minister for the Environment. EXPLANATORY NOTE. This order terminates, as from the 15th November, 1993, the operation of subsection 5 of section 7 of the Local Government (Reorganisation) Act, 1985 to the county and county borough of Galway. Under the subsection the same person was to be county manager for the county and city manager for the county borough. The effect of this Order is to require the county and the county borough each to have its own individual manager.
