No. 5 of 1993. ROAD TRAFFIC (LICENSING OF DRIVERS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1993. The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 42 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) hereby makes the following Regulations:— 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) (Amendment) Regulations, 1993. 2. These Regulations and the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1989 to 1991 shall be construed together and may be cited collectively as the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1989 to 1993. 3. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 18th day of January, 1993. 4. The Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1989 ( S.I. No. 285 of 1989 ), as amended, are hereby further amended as follows: ( a ) by the substitution of the word "ten" for the word "five" in paragraph (
- c)of subarticle
(4)of article 15. ( b ) by the substitution of the following paragraph for paragraph (a) of subarticle
(2)of article 21: "( a ) category A unless the person either (
- i)holds a driving licence in respect of vehicles in Category A1 and held such a driving licence for a period of at least two years during the period of ten years preceding the commencement day, or (
- ii)is, on the commencement day, 25 years of age or over." ( c ) by the substitution of the word "ten" for the word "five" in paragraph (
- c)of sub-article
(5)of article 22. ( d ) by the substitution of the word "ten" for the word "five" in paragraph (a) of sub-article
(1)of article 29. ( e ) by the substitution of the word "ten" for the word "five" in paragraph (b) of sub-article
(1)of article 29. ( f ) by the substitution of the word "ten" for the word "five" in sub-article
(4)of article
