FISHERIES REGIONS (ALTERATION OF BOUNDARIES) ORDER, 1994. I, GERRY O'SULLIVAN, Minister of State at the Department of the Marine in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 10

(10)of the fisheries Act, 1980 (No. 1 of 1980), and the Fisheries (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 30 of 1977 ) (as adapted by the Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 82 of 1987 )), and the Marine (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1993 ( S.I. No. 42 of 1993 ) and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows: 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the Fisheries Regions (Alteration of Boundaries) Order, 1994.
(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 21st day of July,
  2. In this Order "the Act of 1980" means the Fisheries Act, 1980 (No. 1 of 1980).
  3. The boundaries of the Eastern Fisheries Region are hereby altered by the inclusion of Lough Lene in the said region and the boundaries of the said region, as altered by this Order, are indicated on the map of the said region prepared pursuant to section 10
(10)of the Act of 1980 and for the purposes of this Order, which map is deposited in the Office of the Minister. 4. The boundaries of the Shannon Fisheries Region are hereby altered by the exclusion of Lough Lene from the said region and the boundaries of the said region, as altered by this Order, are indicated on the map of the said region prepared pursuant to section 10
(10)of the Act of 1980 and for the purposes of this Order, which map is deposited in the Office of the Minister.
  1. Article 3 of the Fisheries Regions Order, 1980 ( S.I. No. 324 of 1980 ), and, in so far as it relates to the said Article, the First Schedule to the said Order, shall be construed and have effect subject to the provisions of this Order. GIVEN under my hand this 5th day of July,
  2. GERRY O'SULLIVAN, Minister of State at the Department of the Marine. The Minister for Finance hereby consents to the making of the foregoing Order. GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Finance, this 7th day of July,
  3. P. CURRAN, A person duly authorised to authenticate the seal of the Minister for Finance. EXPLANATORY NOTE. The effect of this Order is to alter the boundaries of the Shannon and Eastern Fisheries Regions by the inclusion of Lough Lene in the Eastern Fisheries Board Region and by the exclusion of Lough Lene from the Shannon Fisheries Board Region.
