No. 296 of 1995. LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1994 (COMMENCEMENT) (NO. 2) ORDER, 1995. The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1

(9)of the Local Government Act, 1994 (No. 8 of 1994), hereby orders as follows:—
  1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act, 1994 (Commencement) (No. 2) Order,
  3. In this Order a reference to a Part, section or Schedule is to a Part or section of, or a Schedule to, the Local Government Act, 1994 , unless it is indicated that reference to some other enactment is intended.
  4. Sections 20 and 23 shall come into operation on the making of this Order.
  5. Section 4
(1)and the First Schedule shall come into operation to the extent specified in the First Schedule to this Order on the making of this Order. 5. Part II, other than sections 6
(3)(b) and 12, shall come into operation on the day of the making of an order under section 21 in respect of the first local elections to be held under section 20
(1). 6. Section 4
(1)and the Second Schedule shall come into operation to the extent specified in the Second Schedule to this Order on the day of the making of an order under section 21 in respect of the first local elections to be held under section 20
