No. 79 of 1995. SOCIAL WELFARE (OPTIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1995. The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 4 of the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1993 (No. 27 of 1993) and 24C of that Act (inserted by section 4 of the Social Welfare (No. 2) Act, 1993 (No. 32 of 1993)), hereby makes the following Regulations: 1 Citation and construction. 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Optional Contributions) (Amendment) Regulations, 1995.
(2)These Regulations and the Social Welfare (Optional Contributions) Regulations, 1994 ( S.I. No. 53 of 1994 ) shall be construed together as one and may be cited together as the Social Welfare (Optional Contributions) Regulations, 1994 and
- 2 Commencement.
- These Regulations shall come into operation on the 6th day of April,
- 3 Determination of optional contributions in certain circumstances.
- Article 9 of the Social Welfare (Optional Contributions) Regulations, 1994 is hereby amended by the substitution of "shall be the sum specified in section 18

- These Regulations reduce the optional contribution payable in this situation to the minimum social insurance contribution payable by a self-employed contributor, i.e. £230 from 6 April,
