AmendmentsLeasuithe I, MICHAEL LOWRY, T.D., Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and, in particular, for the purpose of giving effect to Council Directive No. 91/296/EEC of 31 May 1991, Commission Directive 94/49/EC of 11 November 1994 and Commission Directive 95/49/EC of 26 September 19951 hereby make the following Regulations. 1O.J No. L. 147/37 1991; No. L. 295/16, 1994: No. L. 233/86, 1995. 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Transit of Natural Gas) (Amendment) Regulations, 1996. 2. In these Regulations "the Regulations of 1991" means the European Communities (Transit of Natural Gas) Regulations, 1991 ( S.I. No. 343 of 1991 ). 3. The Regulations of 1991 and these Regulations shall be construed together as one and may be cited together as the European Communities (Transit of Natural Gas) Regulations, 1991 and 1996. 4. In the Regulations of 1991 references to the Council Directive shall be construed as references to the Directive as amended from time to time. These Regulations give effect to the terms of Commission Directives 94/49/EC of 11 November 1994 and 95/49/EC of 26 September 1995 and any further Directives updating the list of entities covered by Council Directive 91/296/EEC of 31 May 1991 on the transit of natural gas through grids.
