No. 216 of 1996. LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1994 (COMMENCEMENT) (NO. 2) ORDER, 1996. The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1

(9)of the Local Government Act, 1994 (No. 8 of 1994), hereby orders as follows:—
  1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act, 1994 (Commencement) (No. 2) Order,
  3. In this Order, "the Act" means the Local Government Act, 1994 (No. 8 of 1994), unless it is indicated that reference to some other enactment is intended.
  4. Section 4
(1)of and the First Schedule to the Act shall come into operation on the 16th day of September, 1996 to the extent specified in the Schedule to this Order. 4. Section 4
(2)of and the Second Schedule to the Act shall come into operation on the 16th day of September, 1996 for the purpose of the amendment of the Local Government Act, 1991 (No. 11 of 1991 ) in the manner stated in column 3 of that Schedule.
  1. Section 24 of the Act shall come into operation on the 16th day of September,
