STOCK TRANSFER (FORMS) REGULATIONS, 1996 I, RUAIRÍ Quinn, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 5 of the Stock Transfer Act, 1963 (No. 34 of 1963), as amended by section 8 of the Companies (Amendment) Act, 1977 (No. 31 of 1977), hereby make the following Regulations: 1.

(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Stock Transfer (Forms) Regulations, 1996.
(2)These Regulations shall come into operation on the 9th day of September 1996. 2.
(1)In these Regulations "the Act of 1963" means the Stock Transfer Act, 1963 (No. 34 of 1963).
(2)A word or expression used in these Regulations that is also used in the Companies Act, 1990 (Uncertificated Securities) Regulations, 1996 ( S.I. No. 68 of 1996 ), has, unless the contrary intention appears, the same meaning in these Regulations as it has in those Regulations of 1996. 3.
(1)The Act of 1963 is hereby amended by the substitution of the form set out in the First Schedule to these Regulations for the first form set out in the First Schedule to that Act.
(2)Section 2
(3)of the Act of 1963 shall apply, with any necessary modifications, in relation to the form for which the form in the First Schedule to these Regulations was substituted, as it applies to any form which was common or usual before the commencement of that Act. 4.
(1)The Act of 1963 is hereby amended by the insertion in the First Schedule to that Act, immediately after the form substituted by paragraph
(1)of Regulation 3 of these Regulations, of the form set out in the Second Schedule to these Regulations.
(2)The form referred to in paragraph
(1)shall be used where units of a registered security to which section 2 of the Act of 1963 applies are transferred to a system-member, to be held by the system-member as uncertificated units of that security. The Regulations also amend the First Schedule by the addition of a new form to be used for the transfer of securities into uncertificated form.
