IRISH NATIONALITY AND CITIZENSHIP (FEES) REGULATIONS, 1996 I, Nora Owen, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Irish Nationality and Citizenship Act, 1956 (No. 26 of 1956), hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, make the following Regulations: 1.

(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Irish Nationality and Citizenship (Fees) Regulations, 1996.
(2)The Irish Nationality and Citizenship Regulations, 1956 to 1993, and these Regulations may be cited together as the Irish Nationality and Citizenship Regulations, 1956 to 1996.
(3)These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of October,
  1. Regulation 14 of the Irish Nationality and Citizenship Regulations, 1956 ( S.I. No. 216 of 1956 ), is hereby amended by the substitution of the following paragraph for paragraph
(2)(inserted by the Irish Nationality and Citizenship (Fees) Regulations, 1993 ( S.I. No. 89 of 1993 )): "
(2)Notwithstanding anything contained in paragraph
(1)(
  1. b)of this Regulation, the fees payable under subparagraphs (i), (ii), (iii) and (
  2. v)of that paragraph shall be nil, if the application for the certificate concerned is made by or on behalf of a refugee or Stateless person referred to in section 16(
  3. g)of the Act (inserted by section 5 of the Irish Nationality and Citizenship Act, 1986), or by or on behalf of a programme refugee within the meaning of section 24
(1)of the Refugee Act, 1996 (No. 17 of 1996)." GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 30th day of September,
