No. 23 of 1997. DISTRICT COURT DISTRICTS AND AREAS (SECTION 26) (NO. 3) ORDER 1997. I, NORA OWEN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 26 of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), as amended by section 43 of the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act, 1961 (No. 39 of 1961), and by section 16 of the Courts Act, 1971 (No. 36 of 1971), and after consultation with the President of the District Court, hereby order as follows: 1.

(1)This Order may be cited as the District Court Districts and Areas (Section 26) (No. 3) Order, 1997.
(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 13th day of January,
  2. The First Schedule to the District Court (Areas) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 5 of 1961 ), is hereby amended by— ( a ) the deletion of the matter in columns

(4)and
(5)at reference number 56, ( b ) the substitution for the matter in column
(5)at reference number 63 (as amended by the District Court Districts and Areas (Section 26) (No. 2) Order, 1997) of the following: "the area comprising the District Electoral Divisions of Ardara, Dawros, Fintown, Glengesh, Glenleheen, Glenties, Graffy, Inishkeel, Maas, Mulmosog, Annagary, Aran, Crovehy, Doocharry, Dunglow, Lettermacward, Maghery, Rutland, Magheraclogher and Meenaclady (excluding Tory Island) in the county of Donegal.", and ( c ) the substitution for the matter in column
(4)at reference number 63 of the following: "Glenties— Fourth Friday in each month at 10.30 a.m. Second Tuesday in each month at 10.30 a.m. Second Tuesday in January, March, May, June, September and November at 3 p.m.".
  1. The Schedule to the District Court Areas (Amendment) Order, 1970 ( S.I. No. 161 of 1970 ), is hereby amended in column 4 at reference number 1 by the deletion of— ( a ) "Bunbeg", and ( b ) "56".
  2. Business transacted in the District Court which is initiated and not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order had been in force at the time at which such business had been initiated.
  3. The District Court Areas (Alteration of Place) (No. 11) Order, 1997 ( S.I. No. 16 of 1997 ), is hereby revoked. GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 13th day of January,

This Order provides for the abolition of the District Court Area of Bunbeg and the amalgamation of the District Electoral Divisions which comprised that Area with the District Court Area of Glenties.
