MARINE (ALTERATION OF NAME OF DEPARTMENT AND TITLE OF MINISTER) ORDER, 1997 The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6
(1)of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows: 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the Marine (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1997.
(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 12th day of July,
- The name of the Department of State, the present name whereof is, in the Irish language, Roinn na Mara and in the English language, the Department of the Marine, is hereby altered. in the Irish language, to that of Roinn na Mara agus Acmhainní Nadúrtha and in the English language, to that of the Department of the Marine and Natural Resources.
- The title of the Minister having charge of the Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language. Aire na Mara and, in the English language, the Minister for the Marine, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of Aire na Mara agus Acmhainní Nadúrtha and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources.
- In any enactment— ( a ) references to the Department of the Marine shall be construed as references to the Department of the Marine and Natural Resources; ( b ) references to the Minister for the Marine shall be construed as references to the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources. Given under the Official Seal of the Government, this 8th day of July,
