EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (AGRICULTURAL OR FORESTRY TRACTORS TYPE APPROVAL) REGULATIONS, 1997. I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 , (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Directive 96/63/EC
(1)of 30 September 1996, in so far as this Directive applies to the type approval of agricultural or forestry tractors and components, hereby make the following Regulations:

- These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) Regulations, 1997 and shall come into operation on the 1st day of December,
- Schedule I (inserted by the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval (No. 2) Regulations, 1988 ( S.I. No. 361 of 1988 ) and amended by the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) Regulations, 1989 ( S.I. No. 288 of 1989 ) and by the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) Regulations, 1990 (S.I. 338 of 1990)) to the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) Regulations 1979 ( S.I. No. 137 of 1979 ) is hereby amended by the substitution of the following item for item no. 8: - "
- 76/432/EEC as amended 6 April 1976 O.J. No. L. 122/1 of 8.5.76 by 96/63/EC 30 September 1996 O.J. No. L. 253/13 of 5.10.96 Braking devices " Given under my official seal this 30th day of October 1997 Joe Walsh Minister for Agriculture and Food EXPLANATORY NOTE These Regulations implement the type approval provisions of Commission Directive 96/63/EC relating to braking devices of agricultural or forestry tractors.
