No. 82 of 1997. DISTRICT COURT AREAS (VARIATION OF DAYS AND HOURS) ORDER, 1997. I, NORA OWEN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 26 of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), and after consultation with the President of the District Court, hereby order as follows: 1.

(1)This Order may be cited as the District Court Areas (Variation of Days and Hours) Order, 1997.
(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 3rd day of March,
  1. In this Order "the Principal Order" means the District Court (Areas) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 5 of 1961 ).
  2. The First Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby amended by the substitution for the matter in column
(4)(as amended by the District Court Areas (Variation of Days and Hours) (No. 2) Order, 1969 ( S.I. No. 31 of 1969 ), the District Court Areas (Variation of Days and Hours) (No. 3) Order, 1984 ( S.I. No. 216 of 1984 ) and the District Court Districts and Areas (Amendment) and Variation of Days and Hours Order, 1988 ( S.I. No. 9 of 1988 )) at reference number 153 of the following: "Each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 10.30 a.m., 11.00 a.m. and 2.30 p.m." 4. The Second Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby amended by the substitution for the matter in column
(4)(as amended by the District Court Areas (Variation of Days and Hours) (No. 3) Order, 1984 ( S.I. No. 216 of 1984 )) at reference number 136 of the following: "Each Friday at 11.00 a.m."
  1. Business transacted in the District Court which is initiated and is not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order had been in force at the time at which such business had been initiated.
