No. 124 of 1998. LOCAL GOVERNMENT (PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT) REGULATIONS, 1998. The Minister for the Environment and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 10 of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1963 (No. 28 of 1963) and by Section 78 of that Act as amended by Section 3 of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1993 (No. 12 of 1993), hereby makes the following Regulations: 1 Citation 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations, 1998.
(2)The collective citation, "the Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations, 1994 to 1998" shall include these Regulations. 2 Amendment of 1994 Regulations 2. Subparagraph (ii) of subarticle
(1)(k) of article 130 of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations, 1994 (as substituted by article 7 of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations, 1995 is hereby deleted. 3 Transitional
- Nothing in these Regulations shall affect proposed development to be carried out by a local authority which has commenced before the 31st day of May, 1998, or proposed development to be carried out on behalf of a local authority where a contract for the carrying out of the development has been signed before the 31st day of May,

These Regulations end the exemption for halting sites from the provisions of Part X of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations 1994 ( S.I. No. 86 of 1994 ) subject to transitional arrangements.
