EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (TELECOMMUNICATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1998. I, MARY O'ROURKE, Minister for Public Enterprise, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving further effect to Council Directive 96/19/EC of 13 March, 19961 (amending Commission Directive 90/388/EEC of 28 June, 19902 with regard to the implementation of full competition in telecommunications markets) hereby make the following Regulations: 1 O.J. No. L.74 of 22 March, 1996. 2 O.J. No. L.192 of 24 July, 1990. 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Telecommunications Infrastructure) (Amendment) Regulations, 1998. 2. The European Communities (Telecommunications Infrastructure) Regulations, 1997 ( S.I. No. 338 of 1997 ), are hereby amended by the insertion after Regulation 9 of those Regulations of the following Regulations: "Repeal 10. Section 9 of the Telegraph Act, 1868 (31 & 32 Vic. c.110) is hereby amended by the repeal of subsections
(8)and

The effect of this Order is to amend the European Communities (Telecommunications Infrastructure) Regulations, 1997 ( S.I. No. 338 of 1997 ), by the repeal of subsection 8 and 9 of section 9 of the Telegraph Act, 1868, to give further effect to Council Directive 96/19/EC of 13 March, 1996 (amending Commission Directive 90/388/EEC of 28 June, 1990 with regard to the implementation of full competition in telecommunications markets).
