I, JOE WALSH, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), for the purpose of giving effect to Council Directive No. 72/160/EEC of 17 April 1972
(1), hereby make the following Regulations:
(1)O.J. No. L96, 23.4.72. p.9. 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Retirement of Farmers) (Amendment) Regulations, 1998.
(2)These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of May, 1998. 2. In these Regulations "the Regulations of 1997" means the European Communities (Retirement of Farmers) Regulations, 1997 ( S.I. No. 283 of 1997 ). 3. The Farmers' Retirement Scheme, 1974, set out in the Schedule to the European Communities (Retirement of Farmers) Regulations ( S.I. No. 116 of 1974 ), is hereby amended by the substitution— (
- a)in Article 7, for "£3,727" (inserted by the Regulations of 1997) of "£3,791" and for "£2,485" (inserted by the Regulations of 1997) of "£2,528", and (
- b)in Article 8, for "£2,485" (inserted by the Regulations of 1997) of "£2,528". GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 7th day of July, 1998. JOE WALSH, Minister for Agriculture and Food.
