AmendmentsLeasuithe I, MICHAEL WOODS, Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Directive No. 96/39/EC
(1)of 19 June, 1996, hereby make the following Regulations:

- These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Minimum Requirements for Vessels Carrying Dangerous or Polluting Goods) Regulations, 1995 (Amendment) Regulations, 1998 and shall come into operation on the 16th day of January,
- The European Communities (Minimum Requirements for Vessels Carrying Dangerous or Polluting Goods) Regulations, 1995 ( S.I. No. 229 of 1995 ), are hereby amended by the deletion of the words "at the time of adoption of the Council Directive" wherever they occur in Section 3
(1)and their replacement by the words "on 1 January, 1996." GIVEN under my Official Seal this 6th day of January, 1998. MICHAEL WOODS, Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources. EXPLANATORY NOTE. These Regulations give effect to Commission Directive 96/39/EC of 19 June, 1996 amending Council Directive 93/73/EEC concerning minimum requirements for vessels bound for or leaving Community ports and carrying dangerous or polluting goods. These Regulations also amend the European Communities (Minimum Requirements for vessels Carrying Dangerous or Polluting Goods) Regulations, 1995, accordingly.
