EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (MECHANICALLY PROPELLED VEHICLE ENTRY INTO SERVICE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1998. The Minister for the Environment and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purposes of giving effect to the provisions of the Council Directives specified in the first column of the Schedule as they relate to the entry into service of mechanically propelled vehicles, hereby makes the following Regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Mechanically Propelled Vehicle Entry into Service) (Amendment) Regulations, 1998. 2. The European Communities (Mechanically Propelled Vehicle Entry into Service) Regulations, 1998 ( S.I. No. 211 of 1998 ) are hereby amended (
  4. a)by the substitution of the following definition of "certificate of conformity" for that set out in article 1: ' "certificate of conformity" means — in the case of a vehicle in the category M1, the certificate which has been completed in accordance with article 5 in the form set out in Annex IX of Council Directive 92/53/EEC of 18 June 19921; 1 OJ No L 225/1 of 10.8.92 in the case of a vehicle in one of the categories, M2, M3, N1, N2 or N3, a certificate in the form specified in the Second Schedule;' , and (
  5. b)by the substitution of the following Schedule for the First Schedule.
