ROAD TRAFFIC (REMOVAL, STORAGE AND DISPOSAL OF VEHICLES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1998 The Minister for the Environment and Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) and section 97 of the said Act, as substituted by section 63 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968), hereby makes the following Regulations: 1.

(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Removal, Storage and Disposal of Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations, 1998.
(2)These Regulations and the Road Traffic (Removal, Storage and Disposal of Vehicles) Regulations 1983 may be collectively cited as the Road Traffic (Removal, Storage and Disposal of Vehicles) Regulations, 1983 to 1998. 2. The Road Traffic (Removal, Storage and Disposal of Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations, 1991 are hereby revoked. 3. Sub-article
(1)of article 7 of the Road Traffic (Removal, Storage and Disposal of Vehicles) Regulations, 1983 ( S.I. No. 91 of 1983 ) is hereby amended - (
  1. a)by the substitution of "£100" for " 7 pound;75" in paragraph (
  2. a)and (
  3. b)by the substitution of "£30" for "£25" in paragraph (b). 4. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 29th day of September, 1998. Noel Dempsey Minister for the Environment and Local Government These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Removal, Storage and Disposal of Vehicles) Regulations, 1983 by increasing from£75 to£100 the charge for the release of a vehicle payable to a road authority or the Garda Commissioner by the owner of a vehicle which has been towed away in accordance with the Regulations and by increasing from£25 to£30 per day the storage charge payable for, the period during which such vehicles have been stored.
