EUROPOL ACT, 1997 (DESIGNATION OF NATIONAL UNIT) ORDER, 1998 I, JOHN O'DONOGHUE, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3
(1)of the Europol Act, 1997 (No. 38 of 1997), following consultation with the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána, hereby order as follows:
- This Order may be cited as the Europol Act, 1997 (Designation of National Unit) Order,
- The Europol National Unit within the Garda Síochána is hereby designated as the national unit for the purposes of the Europol Act, 1997 (No. 38 of 1997), and the Convention. GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 1st day of October,
- JOHN O'DONOGHUE Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform. EXPLANATORY NOTE This Order designates the Europol National Unit within the Garda Síochána as the national unit for the purposes of the Europol Act, 1997 and the Europol Convention.
