AmendmentsLeasuithe I, MARY HARNEY, TD, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to the Community Directives and to the corrigenda thereto specified in the Schedule hereto, in so far as those Directives and corrigenda apply to the type approval of motor vehicles, trailers and components, hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Motor Vehicles Type Approval) (No. 3) Regulations, 1999, and shall come into operation on the 30th day of November, 1999. 2. The European Communities (Motor Vehicles Type Approval) Regulations, 1978 ( S.I. No. 305 of 1978 ), are hereby amended by the substitution for Schedule 1 (inserted by the European Communities) (Motor Vehicles Type Approval) (No. 2) Regulations, 1999 ( S.I. The European Communities (Motor Vehicles Type Approval) Regulations 1978 ( S.I. No. 305 of 1978 ) implemented in Ireland those provisions of a number of European Community Directives which deal with the type approval of motor vehicles, their trailers and components. The relevant EC Directives are listed in the Schedule to those Regulations. Subsequent Regulations have been made amending S.I. No. 305 of 1978 , the latest being S.I. No. 183 of 1999 , by substituting a new schedule to take account of certain type approval directives subsequently adopted. These Regulations now amend the schedule to give effect in Irish law to the following Commission Directives.
