Acts Referred to Medical Practitioners Act, 1978 1978, No. 4 Medical Practitioners Acts, 1978 and 1993 Number 24 of 2000 MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2000 AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 29 OF THE MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS ACT, 1978, AND TO PROVIDE FOR MATTERS CONNECTED THEREWITH. [8th July, 2000] BE IT ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS AS FOLLOWS: Amendment of section 29 of Medical Practitioners Act, 1978. 1.— Section 29 of the Medical Practitioners Act, 1978 , is amended by the substitution of the following subsection for subsection
(2): “
(2)The Council may extend a period determined under subsection
(1)of this section for such further period or periods as the Council may determine provided that the aggregate of such periods shall not exceed seven years.”. Short title and collective citation. 2.—
(1)This Act may be cited as the Medical Practitioners (Amendment) Act, 2000.
(2)The Medical Practitioners Acts, 1978 and 1993, and this Act may be cited together as the Medical Practitioners Acts, 1978 to 2000.
