No. 23/2000 - The Fire Services Council (Establishment) Order, 1983 (Amendment) Order, 2000 AmendmentsLeasuithe The Minister for the Environment and Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3
(8)of the Local Government Services (Corporate Bodies) Act, 1971 as applied by section 16
(5)of the Fire Services Act, 1981 hereby orders as follows:— 1. Article 4
(2)of the Fire Services Council (Establishment) Order, 1983 is hereby amended by the substitution of “five years” for “two years”.
- This Order may be cited as the Fire Services Council (Establishment) Order, 1983 (Amendment) Order,
- GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for the Environment and Local Government this 26th day of January,
- NOEL DEMPSEY, Minister for the Enterprise and Local Government. The Minister for Finance hereby consents to the above Order. GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Finance this 27th day of January,
- CHARLIE McCREEVY, Minister for Finance. EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.) This Order extends the maximum term of office of members of the Fire Services Council from two years to five years.
