AmendmentsLeasuithe The Courts Service, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 26 of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), as amended by section 43 of the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act, 1961 (No. 39 of 1961), and section 16 of the Courts Act, 1971 (No. 36 of 1971), and section 29 of the Courts Service Act, 1998 (No. 8 of 1998), and after consultation with the President of the District Court, hereby orders as follows: 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the District Court Districts and Areas (Amendment) and Variation of Days (Naas and Blessington) Order, 2000.
(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of August,
- In this Order— “Order of 1967” means District Court Districts and Areas (Amendment) Order, 1967 ( S.I. No. 13 of 1967 ); “Order of 1970” means District Court Areas (Amendment) Order, 1970 ( S.I. No. 161 of 1970 ); “Order of 1985” means District Court Areas (Variation and Hours) Order, 1985 ( S.I. No. 43 of 1985 ); “Principal Order” means the District Court (Areas) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 5 of 1961 ).
- The First Schedule of the Principal Order is amended— (a) at reference 125, by the substitution for the matter in columns
(4)and
(5)(as amended by Articles 7 and 5 of the Order of 1967), of the following “ Naas— The area comprising Second, Third and Fourth Wednesday in each month at 11 a.m. First Tuesday of each month at 11 a.m. (
- a)the District Electoral Divisions of Bodenstown, Carragh, Donore, Kill, Killashee, Kilteel, Ladytown, Naas Rural, Naas Urban, Newtown, Oughterard, Rathmore, Clane, Downings, Kilmeage North, Kilmeage South, Rathaman, Robertstown and Ballymore Eustace in the county of Kildare, and (
- b)the District Electoral Divisions of Blessington, Burgage, Kilbride (Baltinglass), Lackan and Togher (Baltinglass) in the county of Wicklow. ” and (
- b)at reference number 262 by the deletion of the matter in columns

(5). 4. The Second Schedule to the Principal Order is amended— (a) at reference number 109 by the substitution for the matter in column
(4)(as amended by Article 4 (b) of the Order of 1985), and column
(5)(as amended by Article 5 of the Order of 1967), of the following: “ Naas— The area comprising Second, Third and Fourth Wednesday in each month at 11 a.m. First Tuesday of each month at 11 a.m. (
- a)the District Electoral Divisions of Bodenstown, Carragh, Donore, Kill, Killashee, Kilteel, Ladytown, Naas Rural, Naas Urban, Newtown, Oughterard, Rathmore, Clane, Downings, Kilmeage North, Kilmeage South, Rathaman, Robertstown and Ballymore Eustace in the county of Kildare, and (
- b)the District Electoral Divisions of Blessington, Burgage, Kilbride (Baltinglass), Lackan and Togher (Baltinglass) in the county of Wicklow. ” and (
- b)at reference number 223 by the deletion of the matter in columns

(5). 5. The Schedule to the Order of 1970 is amended at reference number 16 in column
(4)by the deletion of “Blessington” and “262”. 6. Business transacted in the District Court which is initiated and not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order had been in force at the time at which such business had been initiated.
