(3)(a)(v) (inserted by section 4 of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 2000 ) of the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959 (No. 14 of 1959), hereby make the following regulations:
  1. These Regulations may be cited as the Wild Salmon and Sea Trout Tagging Scheme (Amendment) Regulations,
  3. In these Regulations— “Act of 2000” means Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 2000 (No. 34 of 2000); “Principal Regulations” means Wild Salmon and Sea Trout Tagging Scheme Regulations, 2000 ( S.I. No. 256 of 2000 ).
  4. The Principal Regulations are amended by the substitution for Regulation 2 of the following Regulation: “
  5. These Regulations, other than Regulation 8, shall come into operation on 20 December 2000 and Regulation 8 shall come into operation on 1 January 2001.”
  6. It is hereby declared that section 90
(3)(inserted by section 51 of the Fisheries Act, 1980 (No. 1 of 1980), and as amended by section 4 of the Act of 2000) of the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959 (No. 14 of 1959), applies to the offences under section 24
(6)(inserted by section 3(a)(i) of the Act of 2000) of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1999 (No. 35 of 1999), in respect of a failure to comply with Regulation 4 or a contravention of Regulation 7 of the Principal Regulations. (This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.) These regulations provide for the commencement on 20 December 2000 of the Wild Salmon and Sea Trout Tagging Scheme Regulations ( S.I. No. 256 of 2000 ) other than regulation 8 of those regulations. These regulations also provide for the application of the consequential disqualification order provisions of section 90
(3)(inserted by section 51 of the Fisheries Act, 1980 ) of the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959 to certain contraventions of the Wild Salmon and Sea Trout Tagging Scheme Regulations 2000.
