AmendmentsLeasuithe I, MARY HARNEY, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1

(4)of the Insurance Act, 2000 (No. 42 of 2000), and following consultation with the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Insurance Act, 2000 (Commencement) Order, 2000. 2. In this Order “Act” means the Insurance Act, 2000 (No. 42 of 2000). 3. The 1st day of January, 2001, is hereby appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Act shall come into operation, namely— (
  1. a)Part 1, (
  2. b)Part 2, other than section 8, (
  3. c)Section 16, for the purposes of section 3, and (
  4. d)Schedules 1 and 2. 4. The 1st day of April, 2001, is hereby appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Act shall come into operation, namely— (
  5. a)section 8, except insofar as it provides for the repeal of section 47 of Part IV of the Insurance Act, 1989 (No. 3 of 1989), (
  6. b)Part 3, insofar as it does not come into operation under Article 3(
  7. c)of this Order, and (
  8. c)Part 4. GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 29th day of December, 2000. MARY HARNEY, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment. EXPLANATORY NOTE. (This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.) This Order fixes the 1st day of January, 2001 as the day on which the provisions of Part 1, Part 2, other than section 8, section 16 for the purposes of section 3, and schedules 1 and 2 of the Insurance Act, 2000 shall come into effect. The Order also fixes the 1st day of April, 2001 as the day on which the remaining provisions of the Act shall come into effect namely: section 8, except insofar as it provides for the repeal of section 47 of Part IV of the Insurance Act, 1989 , Part 3, insofar as it does not come into operation under Article 3(
