No. 75/2000 - General Medical Services (Payments) Board (Establishment) (Amendment) Order, 2000 AmendmentsLeasuithe The Minister for Health and Children in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 11 of the Health Act 1970 (No. 1 of 1970) hereby orders as follows:- 1. This order may be cited as the General Medical Services (Payments) Board (Establishment) (Amendment) Order, 2000. 2. The General Medical Services (Payments) Board (Establishment) Order, 1972 ( S.I. No 184 of 1972 ) is hereby amended by:- (
  4. i)the substitution for the definition of “the health boards” of the following: “ “the health boards” means the health boards established by the Health Board Regulations, 1970 ( S.I. No. 170 of 1970 ) being: (
  5. a)the Midland Health Board, (
  6. b)the Mid-Western Health Board, (
  7. c)the North Eastern Health Board, (
  8. d)the North Western Health Board, (
  9. e)the South Eastern Health Board, (
  10. f)the Southern Health Board, (
  11. g)the Western Health Board, and the Eastern Regional Health Authority established by section 7 of the Eastern Regional Health Authority Act, 1999 , and the Health (Eastern Regional Health Authority) Act, 1999 (Establishment Day) Order, 2000 ( S.I. No. 68 of 2000 )”; (
  12. ii)the substitution in Article 7 of “fourteen” for “eleven”. (iii) the substitution for Article 7(
  13. a)and (
  14. b)of the following: “(
  15. a)(
  16. i)one officer of each health board, designated by the chief executive officer of the health board, and (
  17. ii)one officer of each Area Health Board established by section 14 of the Eastern Regional Health Authority Act, 1999 , and the Health (Eastern Regional Health Authority) Act, 1999 (Establishment Day) Order, 2000 ( S.I. No. 68 of 2000 ) designated by the area chief executive of the Area Health Board, and (
  18. b)three other persons appointed by the members referred to in paragraph (
  19. a)(
  20. i)and (ii).”; (
  21. iv)the substitution of the following Article for Article 8: “8.

(1)A member of the Board referred to in article 7 (
  1. a)(
  2. i)shall hold office for such period as may be determined by the chief executive officer on the designation of such member or until the earlier termination of such membership by the chief executive officer
(2)A member of the Board referred to in article 7 (
  1. a)(
  2. ii)shall hold office for such period as may be determined by the area chief executive on the designation of such member or until the earlier termination of such membership by the area chief executive.” (
  3. v)the substitution in Article 15 of “five” for “four”.
