(2)of the Finance Act, 2001 (No. 7 of 2001), hereby order as follows:
- This Order may be cited as the Finance Act, 2001 (Commencement of Section 169) Order,
- The 1st day of July, 2001, is appointed as the day on which section 169 of the Finance Act, 2001 (No. 7 of 2001) comes into operation. Given under my Official Seal, 16th May
- Charlie McCreevy Minister for Finance. EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation). This Order appoints 1 July, 2001 as the date for coming into operation of the provisions of section 169 of the Finance Act, 2001 . This section amends the definitions of “category B vehicle” and “crew cab” in section 130 of the Finance Act, 1992 in order to revise the measurement criteria used to classify certain vehicles into the various categories that determine the rate of vehicle registration tax to be paid.
