No. 214/2001 - Register of Electors (Administrative County of Tipperary North Riding) (Special Difficulty) (No. 2) Order, 2001 AmendmentsLeasuithe WHEREAS it appears to the Minister for the Environment and Local Government that by reason of the failure of the registration authority to publish the register of electors for the year 2001/2002 in accordance with Rule 2 of the Second Schedule of the Electoral Act, 1992 (No. 23 of 1992), there is a special difficulty in relation to the holding of the polls in the constituency of Tipperary North at the referenda on the proposals for the amendment of the Constitution contained in the Twenty-first Amendment of the Constitution (No. 2) Bill, 2001, the Twenty-third Amendment of the Constitution Bill, 2001 and the Twenty-fourth Amendment of the Constitution Bill, 2001, the Minister for the Environment and Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 164 of the Electoral Act, 1992 , hereby orders as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Register of Electors (Administrative County of Tipperary North Riding) (Special Difficulty) (No. 2) Order, 2001. 2. In this Order — “the Act of 1992” means the Electoral Act, 1992 ; “registration authority” means Tipperary (North Riding) County Council; “the referenda” means the referenda to be held on the proposals for the amendment of the Constitution contained in the Twenty-first Amendment of the Constitution (No. 2) Bill, 2001, the Twenty-third Amendment of the Constitution Bill, 2001 and the Twenty-fourth Amendment of the Constitution Bill, 2001. 3. Notwithstanding Part II and the Second Schedule of the Act of 1992, the registration authority shall publish, not later than the 24th May, 2001, the register of electors for the year 2001/2002 in accordance with Rule 2 of the Second Schedule of the Act of 1992 which shall be used for the purpose of taking the polls at the referenda and any subsequent polls which may be taken in the period up to and including the 14th February, 2002.
