No. 245/2001 - Education Act, 1998 (National Council For Curriculum and Assessment) (Appointment of Members) Regulations, 2001 AmendmentsLeasuithe I, Michael Woods, Minister for Education and Science, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 40
(4)of the Education Act, 1998 (No. 51 of 1998), following consultation with the persons specified in that section, hereby make the following regulations:
- These Regulations may be cited as the Education Act, 1998 (National Council for Curriculum and Assessment) (Appointment of Members) Regulations,
- 2.
(1)In these Regulations “Council” means the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment established under section 39 of the Education Act, 1998 (No. 51 of 1998).
(2)In these Regulations a reference to a Regulation is to a Regulation of these Regulations. 3. The Minister shall, before appointing the members of the Council, give notice, in writing, to each of the persons specified in section 40
(4)of the Education Act. 1998, of those persons whom he or she proposes to appoint.
- Each of the persons to whom notice is given under Regulation 3 may make representations in relation to the proposed appointments, in writing, to the Minister within 21 days from the date of receipt of the notice.
- The Minister shall, on the expiration of the period referred to in Regulation 4, appoint the members of the Council referred to in the notice given under Regulation 3 having regard to the representations, if any, made under Regulation
