No. 561/2002 - Classical Swine Fever Order 2002 AmendmentsLeasuithe I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 , 10 and 13 of the Diseases of Animals Act 1966 (No. 6 of 1966 (as adapted by the Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2002 ( S.I. No. 306 of 2002 ), for the prevention of the spreading of classical swine fever and to give effect to Council Directive 2001/89/EC of 23 October 20011 , hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Classical Swine Fever Order 2002. 2.
(1)Each of the Orders mentioned in paragraph
(2)of this Article shall be construed and have effect as if the references therein to - (
- a)foot and mouth disease included references to classical swine fever and (
- b)animal included references to the semen, ova and embryos of an animal
(2)The Orders referred to in paragraph
(1)of this Article are the Foot and Mouth Disease Order 1956 ( S.I. No. 324 of 1956 ), the Foot and Mouth Disease (Restrictions on Movement of Persons) Order 1967 ( S.I. No. 271 of 1967 ), the Foot and Mouth Disease Order 1956 (Amendment) Order 1967 ( S.I. No. 297 of 1967 ) the Foot and Mouth Disease Order 1956 (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 1967 ( S.I. No. 310 of 1967 ) and the Foot and Mouth Disease Order 1956 (Amendment) Order 1968 ( S.I. No. 69 of 1968 ).
- The Swine Fever (Ireland) Order of 1900 dated 16 October 1900 (S.R. & O No. 8 of 1900) and the Swine Fever (Ireland) Order of 1901 (S.R. & O. No. 25 of 1901) are revoked. GIVEN under my Official Seal 3 December, 2002 Joe Walsh. Minister for Agriculture and Food EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation) This Order provides for controls in the event of the outbreak of Classical Swine Fever. 1 O.J.
