No. 619/2002 - European Communities (Units of Measurement) (Amendment) Regulations 2002 AmendmentsLeasuithe I, Mary Harney, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Council Directive 89/617/EEC of 27 November 19891 , hereby make the following regulations: 1 These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Units of Measurement) (Amendment) Regulations 2002. 2 In these Regulations: “Principal Regulations” mean the European Communities (Units of Measurement) Regulations 1992, ( S.I. No. 255 of 1992 ); “Regulations of 2001” mean the European Communities (Units of Measurement) (Amendment) Regulations 2001, ( S.I. No. 283 of 2001 ). 3 Regulation 4
(2)of the Principal Regulations is amended by substituting the following paragraph for paragraph (
- e)(inserted by the Regulations of 2001): “(
- e)for the specific field of application set out in Schedule 6 the units of measurement listed therein may be used until 31 December 2004 and shall not be used thereafter, and”.
