No. 321/2003 - Road Traffic Act 2002 (Commencement) (No. 2) Order 2003 AmendmentsLeasuithe I, Séamus Brennan, Minister for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 26 of the Road Traffic Act 2002 (No. 12 of 2002) and the National Roads and Road Traffic (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 2002 ( S.I. No. 298 of 2002 ) (as adapted by the Public Enterprise (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2002 ( S.I. No. 305 of 2002 )), hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic Act 2002 (Commencement)(No. 2) Order 2003. 2. In this Order - “Act of 2002” means the Road Traffic Act 2002 (No. 12 of 2002): “Principal Act” means the Road Traffic Act 1961 (No. 24 of 1961). 3. The 25th day of August 2003 is fixed as the day on which the matter at reference numbers 15 and 16 in columns

(1)to
(5)of Part 2 of the First Schedule to the Act of 2002 comes into operation and on which the following provisions of that Act come into operation to the extent specified in relation to them: (
  1. a)section 22 of the Act of 2002 in so far as it applies to the following offences under section 11 of the Principal Act: (
  2. i)an offence committed on or after 25th August 2003 consisting of a contravention by a driver of a vehicle of article 6 of the Road Traffic (Construction, Equipment and Use of Vehicles (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 1991 ( S.I. No. 359 of 1991 (being the offence specified at the said reference number 15) and (
  3. ii)an offence committed on or after 25th August 2003 consisting of a contravention of article 7
(3)of the Road Traffic (Construction, Equipment and Use of Vehicles) (Amendment (No. 3) Regulations 1991 (being the offence specified at the said reference number 16), (
  1. b)section 8 of the Act of 2002 in so far as it applies to the offences specified at the said reference numbers 15 and 16 committed on or after 25th August 2003, and (
  2. c)section 25
(2)of the Act of 2002 as respects offences specified at the said reference numbers 15 and 16 committed on or after 25th August 2003, in so far as it applies to subsections
(1)and
