No. 66/2003 - European Communities (Trade With Iraq) (Amendment) Regulations 2003 AmendmentsLeasuithe I, Mary Harney, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Regulation (EC) No. 208/2003 of 3 February 20031 , hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Trade with Iraq) (Amendment) Regulations 2003. 2. The European Communities (Trade with Iraq) Regulations 1997 ( S.I. No. 370 of 1997 ) are amended by substituting the following for Regulation 2: “2. In these Regulations ‘Council Regulation’ means Council Regulation (EC) No. 2465/96 of 17 December 19962 as amended by Council Regulation 1346/2002 of 25 July 20023 and Commission Regulation (EC) No. 208/2003 of 3 February 20031 .”. The effect of this Order is to further amend the Statutory Instrument that provided for penalties for infringements of Council Regulation (EC) No. 2465/96 prohibiting trade with Iraq, to take account of amendments made to Annex II.
