No. 71/2003 - Stores For Explosives (Amendment) Order 2003 AmendmentsLeasuithe The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 83 of the Explosives Act, 1875, as adapted, and on the recommendation of the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, order as follows:— 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the Stores for Explosives (Amendment Order 2003.
(2)This Order and the Stores for Explosives Order, 1955, ( S.I. No. 42 of 1955 may be cited together as the Stores for Explosives Order, 1955 and 2003. 2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 applies to this order. 3. The Stores for Explosives Order, 1955 is amended by the substitution of the following Article for Article 6: “6. (
- a)Subject to paragraph (b), a store shall not be situated below ground in any quarry, tunnel or other underground place in which work is carried on or in which any persons are employed or in any place which opens into or out of or is in communication with any such quarry, tunnel or underground place. (
- b)Paragraph (
- a)does not apply in relation to a mine.” Given under the Official Seal of the Government 18th February 2003.
