No. 185/2004 - European Communities (Feedingstuffs) (Methods of Sampling and Analysis) (Amendment) Regulations 2004 AmendmentsLeasuithe I, JOE WALSH, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Directive 2002/70/EC of 26 July 20021 and Commission Directive 2003/126/EC of 23 December 20032 , hereby make the following regulations— 1.

(1)These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Feedingstuffs) (Methods of Sampling and Analysis) (Amendment) Regulations 2004.
(2)The European Communities (Feedingstuffs) (Methods of Sampling and Analysis) Regulations 1999 to 2000 and these Regulations may be cited collectively as the European Communities (Feedingstuffs) (Methods of Sampling and Analysis) Regulations 1999 to 2004. 2. Regulation 2
(1)of the European Communities (Feedingstuffs) (Methods of Sampling and Analysis) Regulations, 1999 are amended by substituting the definition of “prescribed method of analysis” for the following: “ ‘prescribed method of analysis’ means a method of analysis which is established as a Community method of analysis for the official control of feedingstuffs in accordance with:— Council Directive 70/373/EEC of 20 July 19703 , Commission Directive 71/250/EEC of 15 June 19714 , Commission Directive 71/393/EEC of 18 November 19715 , Commission Directive 72/199/EEC of 27 April 19726 , Commission Directive 73/46/EEC of 5 December 19727 , Commission Directive 73/47/EEC of 5 December 19728 , Commission Directive 78/633/EEC of 15 June 19789 , Commission Directive 81/680/EEC of 30 July 198110 , Commission Directive 81/715/EEC of 31 July 198111 , Commission Directive 84/4/EEC of 20 December 198312 , Commission Directive 84/425/EEC of 25 July 198413 , Commission Directive 92/89/EEC of 3 November 199214 , Commission Directive 92/95/EEC of 9 November 199215 , Commission Directive 93/28/EEC of 4 June 199316 , Commission Directive 93/70/EEC of 28 July 199317 , Commission Directive 93/117/EC of 17 December 199318 , Commission Directive 94/14/EC of 29 March 199419 , Commission Directive 98/54/EC of 16 July 199820 , Commission Directive 98/64/EC of 3 September 199821 , Commission Directive 99/27/EC of 20 April 199922 , Commission Directive 99/76/EC of 23 July 199923 , Commission Directive 99/79/EC of 27 July 199924 , Commission Directive 2000/45/EC of 6 July 200025 , Commission Directive 2002/70/EC of 26 July 200226 and Commission Directive 2003/126/EC of 23 December 200327 .” GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 7th day of April,

These Regulations amend the European Communities (Feedingstuffs) (Methods of Sampling and Analysis) Regulations 1999 to 2000, so as to give effect to Commission Directive 2002/70/EC of 26 July 2002 and Commission Directive 2003/126/EC of the 23 December 2003 which establishes Community methods of analysis for the determination of levels of dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs in feedingstuffs and methods of analysis for the determination of constituents of animal origin in feedingstuffs respectively. The Regulations should be read in conjunction with the Commission Directives.
