No. 281 OF 2005 Statute J of University College Cork — National University of Ireland, Cork UNIVERSITIES ACT 1997 UNIVERSITY COLLEGE CORK NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF IRELAND, CORK STATUTE J adopted by the Governing Body at its meeting on 8 March 2005 Universities Act 1997 University College Cork National University of Ireland, Cork We, the Governing Body of University College Cork — National University of Ireland Cork (“the University”) under and by virtue of the powers conferred on us by the above Act, do by this present instrument under the Seal of the University make the Statute contained in the Schedule hereof for the general government of the said University. Given under the Common Seal of the University this Eighth day of March, 2005 Present when the Common Seal of the University was affixed hereto: (Signed) G.T. Wrixon President (Signed) M.F. Kelleher Secretary SCHEDULE STATUTE J The statutes of University College Cork and Statutes A-I of University College Cork — National University of Ireland, Cork, shall be read and construed with the additions modifications and amendments hereinafter set forth. CHAPTER I Pension Scheme — Office of President 1. With the consent of the present holder of the Office of President, the provisions of Statute G shall be modified in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter. 2. Statute G, section 2, is hereby replaced by the following: “The first sentence of the provisions of Statute 79, Chapter I., section 7(a)i, as amended by Statute 141, Chapter II, and by Statute 147, Chapter VI, section 1(a), is hereby deleted and replaced by the following: ‘7(a)i. Unless he otherwise resigns, retires or is removed from office, the present holder of the Office of President shall hold office for a period of 10 years from 26 January, 1999, and shall then retire from the Office of President.’” 3. Statute G, section 3, is hereby deleted. 4. Statute G, section 4, is hereby re-numbered as section 3. CHAPTER II 1. This Statute may be cited as Statute J of University College Cork — National University of Ireland, Cork or Stat. J. of U.C.C. 2.
