No. 282 of 2005 European Communities (Mechanically Propelled Vehicle Entry into Service) (Amendment) Regulations 2005 I, Martin Cullen, Minister for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 ( No. 27 of 1972 ) and for the purpose of giving effect to Council Directive 80/1268/EEC of 16 December 19801 and Directive 2004/3/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 February 20042 in so far as they relate to the entry into service of motor vehicles, hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Mechanically Propelled Vehicle Entry into Service) (Amendment) Regulations 2005. 2. The European Communities (Mechanically Propelled Vehicle Entry into Service) Regulations 2003 ( S.I. No. 551 of 2003 ) are amended by substituting for Schedules 1 and 2 (inserted by the European Communities (Mechanically Propelled Vehicle Entry into Service) (Amendment)(No. 2) Regulations 2004 ( S.I. - Martin Cullen Minister for Transport Explanatory Note (This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation) These Regulations require that applications to the Revenue Commissioners for the registration of new commercial vehicles (Category NI vans) will also require certificates of conformity with Directive 80/1268/EEC, as amended by Directive 2004/3/EC, in relation to the measurement of carbon dioxide emissions and fuel consumption. These requirements will apply to vans up to 1305 Kgs from 1 January 2006 and to larger vans up to 3500 Kgs with effect from I January
- These regulations amend the European Communities (Mechanically Propelled Vehicle Entry into Service Regulations 2003 ( S.I. No. 551 of 2003 ) by substituting new schedules for the existing schedules, as inserted by the European Communities (Mechanically Propelled Vehicle Entry into Service)(Amendment)(No.2 Regulations 2004 ( S.I.
