No. 13 of 2006 European Communities (Recovery of Amounts) (Amendment) Regulations, 2006 I, Mary Coughlan, Minster for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purposes of giving further effect to Commission Regulation (EEC) No. 2220/1985 of 22 July, 1985 as amended by Commission Regulation (EC) No. 3403/1993 of 10 December, 1993, Commission Regulation (EEC) No. 3002/1992 of 16 October, 1992 as amended by Commission Regulation (EC) No. 770/1996 of 26 April, 1996, Commission Regulation (EC) No. 800/1999 of 15 April 1999, Commission Regulation (EC) No. 2419/2001 of 11 December 2001 and Commission Regulation (EC) No. 796/2004 of 21 April 2004, hereby make the following Regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Recovery of Amounts) (Amendment) Regulations 2006 and come into operation on 31 January, 2006. 2. The European Communities (Recovery of Amounts) Regulations 2003 are amended by: 1) the substitution of Article 3 by the following: “3. The Minister shall charge an interest rate of 3 per cent per year for the purposes of - (

This Statutory Instrument amends the European Communities (Recovery of amounts) Regulations, No. 463 of 2003 to reduce the interest rate applicable to the recovery of amounts pursuant to the EU Commission Regulations specified therein and to extend the scope of the Regulations to direct support schemes for farmers under the common agricultural policy, provided for under Council Regulation 1782/2003.
