No. 286 of 2006 GARDA SIOCHANA (RANKS) REGULATIONS, 2006 I, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 122 and 128 of the Garda Síochána Act 2005 (No. 20 of 2005), after consulting with the Garda Commissioner in so far as the regulations are made under section 122 of that Act, and with the approval of the Government, hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Garda Síochána (Ranks) Regulations 2006. 2. The Garda Síochána are to be divided into the ranks specified in column
(1)of the Schedule to these Regulations and the maximum number of members in each rank is that specified in column
(2)of that Schedule opposite the mention of the rank in column
(1). 3. The Garda Síochana (Ranks) Order 2005 ( S.I. No 849 of 2005 ) is revoked. SCHEDULE Rank of Garda Síochána Maximum Number of Members of Garda Síochána in each rank
