No. 221 of 2007 Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) (Amendment) (No. 2) (Rent Supplement) Regulations 2007 The Minister for Social and Family Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 4 and 198 of the Social Welfare Consolidation Act 2005 (No. 26 of 2005), hereby makes the following regulations: 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) (Amendment) (No. 2) (Rent Supplement) Regulations 2007.
(2)These Regulations shall be construed as one with the Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) Regulations 1995 to 2007 and shall be included in the collective citation “the Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) Regulations 1995 to 2007”. 2. These Regulations come into operation on 7 May 2007. 3. Article 13 of the Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) Regulations 1995 (S.I. No. 382 of 1995) is amended by substituting - (
- a)“55” for “EUR 50”, and (

Explanatory Note [This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.] These regulations provide for an increase in the maximum amount of Rent Supplement payable to tenants in voluntary housing developments funded through the local authority Capital Assistance Scheme. The maximum amounts are being increased to 55.00 (from 50.00) for a single person and to 60.00 (from 55.00) for a couple.
