I, MARY COUGHLAN, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Directive 2006/124/EC 1 of 5 December 2006, hereby make the following regulations— 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Vegetable Seed) (Amendment) Regulations 2007. 2. The European Communities (Marketing of Vegetable Propagating and Planting Material, other than Seed) Regulations 1994 ( S.I. No. 159 of 1994 ) are amended in Regulation 2
(1)by substituting for the definition of “the Directive”, the following— “ ‘the Directive’ means Council Directive No. 92/33/EEC of 28 April 1992 2 , Commission Directive 93/61/EEC of 2 July 1993 3 , Commission Directive 93/62/EEC of 5 July 1993 4 , Council Directive 2003/61/EC of 18 June 2003 5 , Commission Decision 2005/55/EC of 25 January 2005 6 and Commission Directive 2006/124/EC of 5 December 2006”. These Regulations give effect to the provisions of Commission Directive 2006/124/EC of 5 December 2006 which amends Council Directive 92/33/EEC on the Marketing of Vegetable Propogating and Planting Material Other than Seed and Council Directive 2002/55/EC on the marketing of vegetable seed. 1 O.J.
