The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6

(1)of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows: 1.
(1)This order may be cited as the Communications, Marine and Natural Resources (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2007.
(2)This order comes into operation on 20 October 2007. 2. The name of the Department of State, the present name of which is, in the Irish language, an Roinn Cumarsáide, Mara agus Acmhainní Nádúrtha and, in the English language, the Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources, is altered, in the Irish language, to that of an Roinn Cumarsáide, Fuinnimh agus Acmhainní Nádúrtha and, in the English language, to that of the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources. 3. The title of the Minister having charge of the Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, an tAire Cumarsáide. Mara agus Acmhainní Nádúrtha and, in the English language, the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources, is altered, in the Irish language, to that of an tAire Cumarsáide, Fuinnimh agus Acmhainní Nádúrtha and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources. 4. In any enactment or any instrument made under an enactment— (
  1. a)references to the Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources shall be construed as references to the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources; (
  2. b)references to the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources shall be construed as references to the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources.
