No. 741 of 2007 REGISTER OF SOLEMNISERS (CORRECTION OF ERRORS) REGULATIONS 2007 Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in “Iris Oifigiúil” of 13th November, 2007. I, MARY HARNEY, Minister for Health and Children, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 and 53 (as amended by the Health Act 2004 (No. 42 of 2004)) of the Civil Registration Act 2004 (No. 3 of 2004) hereby make the following regulations: 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Register of Solemnisers (Correction of Errors) Regulations 2007.
(2)These Regulations come into operation on 5 November 2007. 2.
(1)Where a person who— (
- a)is a registered solemniser, (
- b)was formerly a registered solemniser, or (
- c)is a person duly authorised by the body on whose application, under section 54 of the Civil Registration Act 2004 (No. 3 of 2004), the person referred to in sub-paragraph (
- a)or (
- b)was registered in the Register, and is of the opinion that there is an error in an entry in the Register, the person may make an application, in writing, to an tArd Chláraitheoir, to correct that error.
(2)Where an application is made under these Regulations An tArd Chláraitheoir, or a person authorised by him or her, may request such information and documents as in his or her opinion are relevant to the application.
(3)An tArd Chláraitheoir, or a person authorised by him or her, shall, having considered the matters specified in the application and the information and documents furnished to him or her, determine whether there is an error in the Register.
(4)Where an tArd Chláraitheoir, or a person authorised by him or her, determines that there is an error in the Register, he or she shall direct that— (
- a)a corrected entry be entered in the Register, and (
- b)the original entry be maintained in the Register.
(5)A person to whom a direction under paragraph
